Little Cinema Tuesday 11 September

Very excited about the upcoming Little Cinema on Tuesday!
With it being the first screening in the school year we are hoping we’ll see some new film-maker blood there from the colleges as well as some familiar faces!
The doors are 9pm as is tradition and the entry remains a pocket-friendly €3. All the magic is going to take place Upstairs in Kelly’s Bar on Bridge Street.

We have a great mix of films and it should be a really good night. The line-up is as follows:

Kenny Gaughan – How To Avoid The Question
Glowpunk – Red Bull Cliff Diving Serpant’s Lair Ireland
Max Webb – “Willowfield” by Cubs
Mairead Treanor – Trouble With Seniors
Eoghan O’Neill – Bruce Willis Love Triangle
Dave Thorpe – Never have I Ever
Alan Corless – The Younger Ones
Stephen O’Gorman – Funnyman
John Cav – “Flown The Other Side” by The Good Shepard
Christopher Tierney – Snow

We hope to see you there!

Electric Picnic was great!

Little Cinema is absolutely delighted to have been a part of this year’s Electric Picnic. The atmospehere, the performances, atrractions and weather were all beyond our expectations!

This was the first time that Little Cinema screened their films in the Mindfield area at the EP. The films were screened in a cosy Globe Theatre Tent (also where Today FM broadcasted with Ed Sheeran!) on Saturday and Sunday at 8pm. Phantom FM did a little interview with us on Saturday which was another highlight for us!

We thank all the film-makers whose films we screened and we appreciate the heads that popped in. We know the amazing bands that were surrounding us are a tough competition to beat!

It was difficult to narrow down a list of films from all the great submissions we have received over the two years, but from our experience at the Volvo Ocean Race the format that works best are comedies and music videos, so that’s what we’ve focused on.

We are really looking forward to seeing everybody there! Look for us at the Word Stage.

Special Screening – The Not So Short Shorts

The Little Cinema is back this month – with something a bit different! We recently received a few submissions which were over our usual 10 minutes limit. We wanted to be able to show these films without changing the normal Little Cinema format so we’re putting on this special event ‘The Not So Short Shorts’ to cater for it. If the night goes well, we might have it on a more regular basis.

We are happy to present you with the 3 films we’ll be screening on the night:
1. Darren Hinchy – ‘The Body’ 21:23
2. Dave Thorpe – ‘Impetuous’ 12:10
3. Carla Maria Tighe – ‘Unheard’ 15:26

The event will take place in Kelly’s Bar on Tuesday 21st August with doors being 9PM. The entry remains €3 on the door, with one submitter per film getting in for free.
